Flash Sale!

The Criterion Collection is doing another flash sale! If you are undecided on what to get I made a top ten of my CC picks for this round:

1. Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (directed by Perdo Almodovar)

Pedro Almodovar is one of my favorite directors and this is the first movie of his I saw. Everything about this movie draws you in within the five minutes and reminds me of an 80’s soap opera on a bigger scale.

2. Valley of the Dolls (directed by Mark Robson)

Is it really no surprise that I added this movie to this? I adore this movie as much as I like book!

3. All That Heaven Allows (directed by Douglas Sirk

This is a beautiful movie and it will leave a lasting impression long after you watch it. This is melodrama at it’s finest.

4. Eclipse Series 9:
The Delirious Fictions of William Klein

The only way to describe the style of these movies is when you mix the front page of the newspaper with the Style section.

5.Dazed and Confused (directed by Ricard Linklater)

This movie is just plain fun.

6.Burden of Dreams (directed by Les Blank)

When Werner Herzog wants a steamship over a hill you better believe that he will DO anything to get that darn steamship over that hill.

7. Beyond the Valley of the dolls (directed by Russ Meyers “

When you need a pick me up movie then this is right up your alley!

9. Gilda (Directed by Charles Vidor)

This film noir at it’s best. Rita Hayworth shines in this and this movie was a total game changer for her career. She was quote saying: “Every man I have ever known has fallen in love with Gilda and awakened with me.”

10. The American Friend (directed by Wim Wenders)

This film literally kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

“I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues”

“Don’t wish it away
Don’t look at it like it’s forever

Between you and me I could honestly say

That things can only get better
And while I’m away

Dust out the demons inside

And it won’t be long before you and me run

To the place in our hearts where we hide
And I guess that’s why they call it the blues

Time on my hands could be time spent with you

Laughing like children, living like lovers

Rolling like thunder under the covers

And I guess that’s why they call it the blues
Just stare into space

Picture my face in your hands

Live for each second without hesitation

And never forget

Wait on me

Cry in the night if it helps

But more than ever I simply love you

More than I love life itself.”

Movie pick of the day!

Sausage Party (2016) directed by Greg Tiernan & Conrad Vernon

This entertaining adult cartoon is not your average Disney movie. Crude and funny puns and jokes are abound in this. If you need something different from your routine movie list then I highly recommend this!

Man of the Moment…

This week’s Man of the Moment is….

Uncle Fester

Htumblr_nlbnn10jik1rp0vkjo1_500

This creepy but hilarious uncle has made this week’s man of the moment. I was first introduced to him through the Addams’s Family movies from the mid 90’s.

I was the huge fan of the movies and did not realized there was a show from the 1950’s and started watching that too.

After the huge success of the movies there was a cartoon series by Hanna-Barbera.

Uncle Fester is the kind of uncle that would either get you in trouble, doing something totally gothic and creepy or he will be the first person in your family most likely to get you out of a jam. Either way you would be laughing the whole entire time with him .

Uncle Fester congrats on being this week’s man of the moment! *Snap*snap*
