Beetlejuice

Today’s movie of the day is Beetlejuice (1988) directed by Tim Burton

This movie is a childhood favorite of mine. I have lot the count of how many times I have seen this movie. It stars Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, and Winoa Ryder.

This is probably one of my top 5 Tim Burton movies. Burton tends to add his own flair when it comes to his movies and they tend to stand of their own.

There so many memorable characters in this movie however for me the one that stands out is Beetlejuice:

Former assistant to Juno ( who is a case worker for the newly deceased) and now a freelance bio-exorcist ghoul. He ends up causing a lot of trouble for the main characters and chaos ensues!

But perhaps my favorite roles of Peter Sellers was a black comedy directed by Hal Ashby called “Being There.”

Peter Sellers was really diverse when it came in creating characters for his movies. Each one had a differently personality and their own comedic charm. Sellers died at the age of 54 on July 24 1980. He was best known for being the life of the party in his roles and always being the funny man. Peter-Sellers-and-his-wicked-Ferrari-275-GTB-in-1965

If you are ever having a low day I suggest popping in a Peter Sellers movie and your mood will change for the better!

Man of the Moment…

This week’s man of the moment is

Stanley Kubrick

This week I will embark in assisting my film teacher discussed and teach one of my favorite directors Stanley Kubrick!

A highly visual director most of his films are based on stories:

Kubrick started his career as a photographer for Look magazine in 1946:

He then started to make short documentaries in order to save up money for his first full length feature:

From there he went on to make some memorable movies. Not always getting the most warm reception when they were first release but over time they are getting the acclaim and recognition for.

Stanley Kubrick is a director that has always stood out for his fearless direction and always fought for his artistic way.
