I remember  watching Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory a lot as a kid. I watched it so many times that I had memorize lines from the scene where Willy Wonka takes all of the contest winners on a boat through a weird tunnel.

Little did I know at my age to much older viewers this scene probably looked much more like a bad acid trip. But to me it seemed like a pleasurable boat ride full of visual flavor and Willy Wonka was decided to sing them a little diddly down the chocolate river stream….

I didn’t revisit that movie until I started college and for some reason it became a movie I would start watching out of habit. Around the same time I found out about a website called IMDb It was a goldmine for me to find out trivia on movies so of course one of the first movies I looked up was this one. And I looked up all of the actors that played Oompa Loompas and well my curiosity got the best of me so I decided to look up the actors on facebook and found one of them!

….and without a doubt in my mind I decided to facebook one of them!

A couple of days later he accepted my friend request!I was so excited that he accepted! I thought to myself Wow this is so cool I am now facebook pals with one of the original actors that played one of the Oompa Loompas!

Then it was a month later I get a message from him: ” I am going to have you remove you as a friend your facebook content is too weird and you do not like any of my posts!”

I was shocked  and I was not prepare for the diva attitudes of an actor! Oh well at least I can always remember  fond memories of the movie and the book. But I still feel a little uneasy when I see a group shot of the oompa loompas….
